Verefina’s Foaming Baby Soap and Lotion

The skin is the largest organ of the body, and it absorbs much of what goes on it. That’s why what you put on your body is just as important as what you put in it. The same is true for babies. In fact, an infant’s skin (and therefore his body) is even more susceptible than an adult’s skin to the effects of topical toxins. Babies have thinner skin than adults do, so it absorbs toxins more readily. It is therefore very important to avoid using harsh synthetic chemicals on your baby as much as possible. With their gentle, natural ingredients, Verefina’s Foaming Baby Soap and Lotion are ideal for baby’s sensitive skin.

Parents and caregivers have many options when it comes to baby soaps and lotions. A lot of these products, however, contain synthetic ingredients that may have dangerous side effects. Two such ingredients are sodium lauryl sulfate (SLS) and sodium laureth sulfate (SLES). In addition to being used in baby soaps and shampoos, SLS and SLES are also used to clean engines, garage floors, and at car washes! These foaming agents make personal care products sudsy, but when they combine with other synthetic chemicals, SLS and SLES can form a class of carcinogens knowns as nitrosamines.

“Fragrances” also show up in many products, and should be avoided whenever possible. The combinations of man-made chemicals that are used to scent many products are considered "trade secrets," which means that manufacturers are not required to list the specific ingredients in them. Rather, they may simply use the word "fragrance" on the label. It is important to be aware that when this term is found in an ingredient list, it could be code for dozens of chemicals (unless the label states what is in the fragrance). Synthetic fragrances can cause allergic and asthmatic reactions, skin irritation, and hormone disruption.

These are just a few examples of the many toxic chemicals that are often found in products marketed for babies. Other questionable ingredients include parabens, dyes, and petrochemicals. In contrast, Verefina’s baby products are made with natural ingredients that are not only safe but also promote healthy skin for your little one. The Foaming Baby Soap contains aloe vera juice and a variety of plant oils. Aloe vera juice provides vitamins, minerals, and amino acids that nourish the skin, while sunflower, coconut, and palm kernel oils moisturize it.

Verefina Baby Lotion contains aloe leaf juice, moisturizing plant oils, and calendula extract. The plant oils provide nutrients that can “feed” the skin. For example, sunflower oil is a good source of vitamin E, an important antioxidant that protects skin cells from damage caused by exposure to environmental toxins and UV rays. Calendula extract has antioxidant, anti-inflammatory, and regenerating properties. It also helps soothe and soften skin. Verefina Baby Lotion is a rich moisturizer, and a little bit goes a long way. So one bottle will last you for a long time.

Both the Foaming Baby Soap and the Baby Lotion are available in Lavender and Unscented. The Lavender products are lightly scented with pure lavender essential oil- never with artificial fragrances.

There are many baby products on the market, and choosing the best ones for your child can be overwhelming. Many of them will do very little (if anything) to promote your baby’s health. And they could potentially be very harmful. Verefina’s baby line is designed to gently clean, nourish, moisturize, and protect your little one’s delicate skin, making it an obvious choice.
