California Baby vs Badger Sunscreen

When it comes to sunscreen, you don't mess around. Finding the right fit for your family is really important.  With small children in my house, ease of use is just as important as the quality of sun protection a sunscreen provides. Below we are reviewing two of the top sunscreens on the market for babies and children, California Baby and Badger Balm. Both sunscreens have the following features:
UVA/UVB broad-spectrum protection
- water resistant
hypoallergenic
safe for use on babies and children

California Baby

About: SPF 30
Price: 2.9 oz bottle is $19.99
Ease of Use: Hard to apply because it doesn’t absorb into the skin very well
Looks: It leaves a white film on top of the skin.
Found At: Whole foods, Target and Online
Quality: It provides great sun protection and is water resistant for up to 80 minutes. Don't love the smell. When using California Baby felt like I had to use a lot to even cover a little skin.
Best Use: Playing in the sun.
Our Rating: 4 out of 5 stars

Badger Balm

About: SPF 30
Price: 2.9 oz - 15.99
Ease of Use: Applies easily to skin, goes on quickly.
Looks: Absorbed into skin without leaving a white residue.
Found At: Wholefoods, Target and Online
Quality: Protects the skin great and is water resistant to up to 40 minutes. Love the lavender smell of Badger. When using Badger I felt like a little went a long way helping with value too.
Best Use: Playing in the Sun.
Our Rating: 5 out of 5 stars

Tips:

1. Before applying I found just letting the sunscreen sit on my finger tips for a minute made it easier to apply.

2. Always make sure you reapply after your child is in water.

3. I always make my child help with applying with the face to make sure she doesn't get it into her eyes. That way she is controlling the situation instead of moving around.
